Our Voices, Our Work: A New Indigenous Reconciliation Podcast Series

I have a somewhat unexpected announcement to make.

Last year, I recorded a 12-episode video podcast series for Indigenous Services Canada exploring Indigenous reconciliation through conversations with people doing the work in communities across Canada.

And today, the first three episodes have been released.

The series is called Our Voices, Our Work, and its premise is simple: reconciliation isn't just something discussed in Parliament, policy documents, or national commissions. It's also something people work toward every day through culture, education, community service, storytelling, art, language, advocacy, and relationships.

Over the course of the series, I had the opportunity to talk with people doing that work and to ask them about what they do, why they do it, and how they see their work contributing to the larger story of Indigenous reconciliation in Canada.

I was particularly interested in the human scale of reconciliation. What does it look like when you move beyond the big national conversation and ask someone about the work they actually do?

The result is a series of conversations that I hope will introduce people to some of the people and perspectives contributing to reconciliation in Canada.

I'm very pleased that the series is finally public.
